Empowering Communities Through Language and Arts
Preserving Nepali Culture for Generations

It is with deep pride and gratitude that I welcome you to the Nepali Language and Arts Center (NLAC). Founded by Bhutanese/Nepali Americans in Cincinnati, NLAC was born from a shared vision: to create a lasting home for cultural preservation, education, and community growth—rooted in the rich heritage of Nepal, Bhutan and India.

Language and culture are more than traditions; they are the threads that bind generations together. At NLAC, we are committed to preserving the Nepali language and celebrating our arts as living expressions of identity, history, and resilience. Through language classes, cultural programs, and community events, we provide a welcoming space where children, youth, elders, and families can learn, connect, and take pride in who they are.

Our work extends beyond classrooms and performances. NLAC is deeply dedicated to strengthening families and empowering the next generation through educational initiatives, youth leadership development, and community outreach. We strive to foster understanding not only within our own community but also across the diverse fabric of Greater Cincinnati.

As we look ahead, our mission remains clear: to build a stronger, more connected community where heritage is honored and the future is embraced with confidence. By bridging the past and the future, NLAC aims to be a hub of learning, pride, and empowerment for Nepali-speaking families and for the wider community we proudly call home.

Thank you to our parents, students, volunteers, board members, partners, and supporters whose commitment keeps this vision alive. Together, we can ensure that our language, arts, and values continue to thrive for generations to come.

With respect and optimism,

Tara Dahal
